Yeah, go on blame it on the tourists! It seems that Galleria dell’Accademia officials in Florence are pointing the finger at the tourist’s feet for the rapid disintegration of Michelangelo’s David. Since its restoration in 2004 the world’s most loved naked guy has shown considerable wear and tear. Italian experts are blaming it on the vibrations caused by tourists stomping through the Galleria. The cracks they so painstakingly filled are opening up and it could only be a matter time before David becomes a pile of marble. Maybe they should drag the fake one in from outside the Galleria and let the tourists stomp all they like? Problem solved.
